We are really overwhelmed by the generosity of people, a few weeks ago a talk was held in the resource centre in Red Lane. They covered our story and unbelievably within half an hour the rest of the monies needed for Zhahid’s treatment had been pledged. The pledged monies are coming in slowly and we will be booking the dates for Zhahid’s treatment over the next few weeks.

Thanks to everyone this treatment will hopefully start to give Zhahid his life back. Words are not enough to say how grateful we are!

UPDATE : 2nd December 2018

We have had a hard time over the last few months Zhahid is progressing faster and finding walking very difficult, he struggles at the moment he is dragging the left leg a lot. Causing him to strain his lower back, so has been in constant pain and legs just give way more often. Left leg is lifeless all day but at night he has severe painful spasms in the left leg, which makes the leg kick out and doesn’t let him sleep. The tremors in his hands have got worse and he needs me to feed him. This disease is stripping away his independence bit by bit, he is getting worse day by day ( it’s devastating for me watching this happening to him, God only knows how Zhahid feels and deals with it!) he just needs to get the HSCT treatment as soon as possible. Please donate so we can save Zhahid from this disease.

We are continuing our fundraising for Zhahid’s HSCT treatment from youcaring to STOP his primary progressive multiple sclerosis a very aggressive and debilitating form of the disease before he becomes wheel chair bound followed by becoming bedridden. It has already taken his independence, made him partially blind, also taken his ability to walk, stand, go to the toilet and eat by himself.

The HSCT treatment (it’s like rebooting the immune system) will give Zhahid hope for the future and for a better quality of life. He has been offered potential treatment dates in Artemis Clinic India for October 2018 or November 2018 to secure these dates we need to pay £2000 non refundable deposit and then pay full amount a month before treatment date so we need to raise all funds by September for the earlier date.

It is a lot of money but breaking it down for the price of a movie and pizza £20 X 1000 donors and we are there giving Zhahid his life back and giving the kids their dad and me my husband. He doesn’t feel much like a dad or husband, he feels sad that his children have never seen the Zhahid before the MS and as we are caring for him, helping him off the floor, helping to the bathroom and as time goes on he relies on our help more as simple things get more and more difficult. There is no normal father child relationship and that saddens him. Please help as much as you can we need everyone’s support to help our family be as normal and ordinary as possible.

Youcaring have closed the account as of 31/7/18 and we are unable to access the story so far which is very sad (you pour out your heart and they can just shut it down). Please, please, please, help we need all the guardian angels out there to look out for zhahid, he has had so many falls over the past few days and it’s just God’s grace that he hasn’t broken anything. Having the HSCT treatment will STOP this disease and I really hope that this time next year Zhahid will be on the road to recovery.
